FIM’s objective is to protect and further the economic, social and artistic interests of musicians represented by its national member unions. For two years I drove FIM’s diplomatic missions to Latin America, led on knowledge sharing events and provided strategic advice on issues such as international copyright, cultural policy and diversity.
Activities included:
· identifying and building relationships with priority stakeholders at national and international levels;
· promoting policy initiatives, generating campaign strategies and drafting policy documents;
· producing evidence by compiling quantitative and qualitative insight about the music profession;
· communicating FIM’s work and regional developments to a diversity of audiences, and
· overseeing projects from inception and fundraising to reporting and evaluation.
I convened five events with representatives of 18 countries and over 10,000 constituents. I also run a project on gender equality in the music sector that resulted in a Declaration outlining key objectives and impactful, low-resource actions for the region, which is described separately.
